Three days of sessions
will be scheduled and fourth & fifth days will be reserved for the field visit to the Himalayas
depending upon the
response from the
participants
. The papers will be presented in English language.

Project Training

This project training is focused about explaining applications of nano scale science and the resultant technological innovations due to the commercialization of resultant products in various fields. The students pursuing their bachelors or masters in the different fields of science and technology must know the advancements in their fields which is not a part of their syllabus. This project enables them to enhance their knowledgebase, pertaining to the developments in their fields of study as a result of global developments in nano science & technology which has changed the landscape of new research and product developments at all the industries and domains.

All the students who wish to undergo summer/ winter projects/ trainings in any industry can choose these projects as their training projects.

These projects are of three/ six month duration. The project includes online tutorials and assessments, and is assessed through project work and online assignments. All the participants have to submit a project report at the end of the project duration. After evaluation of this report, every student will get a certificate from Nano Science and Technology Consortium (NSTC).

Students will get another opportunity to publish their review paper* written by them and evaluated by independent experts, after it which will be published in journals or posted on Nanoconnect.http://nstc.in/education-training/training_projects.html

Summer Research Opportunity for Faculty of Other Institutions

For whom: Faculty of prominent engineering institutions. IIT GN may at its discretion also award this fellowship to teachers of other colleges/universities.
Objectives: To provide opportunities to faculty of other institutions to (i) participate in ongoing research projects at IIT GN, (ii) undergoing mentorship by faculty of IIT GN and, (iii) participate in developmental initiatives – [development of laboratories, new elective courses etc.]
Duration: At least 2 months; at most duration of summer break (Summer Break at IIT GN: May 1 – July 30, 2013).
Eligibility: The applicant must currently be a full-time faculty member at an institution and have a teaching experience of at least 2 years.
Requirements:
  • Applicants are required to work with a member of IIT GN faculty and maintain regular work time.
  • Applicants are required to submit a report to IIT GN at the end of the tenure.
Provisions for visitors:
  • Monthly honorarium of Rs. 20,000/-
  • Single furnished accommodation; visitors are required to pay for their own food/meals.
  • Return rail travel (2nd AC) between Ahmedabad and place of work for joining IITGN and returning to parent institution.
Other Considerations:
  • Applicants can spend at most 3 summers at IIT GN under this program.
  • Each member of the faculty of IIT GN can work with at most 2 visitors in a given summer.

    confirmation from Central Apprenticeship Board.

  2. Minimum qualifying marks- 60% in Aggregate .

  3. Minimum qualifying marks- 50% in Aggregate.
